Crackdown on Software Piracy

As many of you know, the Business Software Alliance (BSA) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to combat software piracy. The BSA has begun to target smaller companies. As an example, a small Midwestern engineering and consulting firm was recently required to pay the BSA $105,000 to settle claims for its use of unlicensed software.

On July 9, 2008, the BSA announced an expansion of its “Know It/Report It/Reward It” campaign which is designed to induce individuals to notify the BSA of software piracy by providing cash rewards of up to $1,000,000.

Recommendations for software to create visual schematics or flow diagrams

One of my lawyers wants to create visual schematics to explain estate plans to his prospective clients. These would be created prior to a face-to-face meeting and I am looking for suggestions on the best Windows-based software package for creating schematics or simple flow diagrams. These will be created from a keyboard, not a stylus and not real time for display.

He wondered about Powerpoint? SmartDraw? Visio? another program?
