Patent Brokers?

Patent Brokers?

Posted January 7th, 2009 by Robert Plotkin

Does anyone know of any good patent brokers, particularly any who are willing to work for a seller (patent owner) on a pure contingency (success) fee basis? I am looking for such a service to assist clients who have obtained patents, or who have patent applications pending, but who have either been unable to commercialize the invention or who have run out of funds to pursue their patent or application. Such people often have created valuable technology, if only they could find a buyer or licensee. Of course the difficulty is that if they have run out of funds, they cannot afford to pay a broker to conduct a search for a licensee or buyer. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Here is one organization that brokers patents:

Intellectual Licensing & Capital Group, Inc.

I am aware of at least one patent that they successfully brokered for a significant amount. I believe it was on a contingency basis.

Consider contacting Myron Kassaraba - I included his contact information below. He has excellent licensing experience and recently started the east coast operations of Pluritas, a west coast based firm. I have worked with him before on licensing matters, although not brokering of patents (yet).

I have worked with a company called IntellEdge. I worked with one of their patent marketing guys, I believe his name was Brian. It was a very good experience - good personal attention.

Their cost structure was on a complete contingent basis - I believe that ie becoming somewhat more common these days, although I have notices other brokers charging for expenses in addition to a commission percentage.

Have no money to buy some real estate? Worry no more, just because it is real to take the home loans to work out such problems. Thence take a auto loan to buy everything you want.

I too am interested in this

I too am interested in this because we have two people in my office who are completely different in their 220-702 and it deals with the shading mostly (I think is how I understand it - they too have a hard time explaining to me). I 312-50 where one sees the first two fine and the last two there is no difference for him and can't see them 350-029 and visa versa for the other person. thanks
