Event: "Critical Technologies For Lawyers"
Speakers: Henry Grossman & Roger Glovsky
Date: October 18, 2005 (Tuesday)
Time: 7:30am
Place: Rebecca's Café, 55 William Street, Wellesley Office Park

Technology is rapidly changing the way attorneys practice law. Today, lawyers are using technology for virtual offices with ebilling, efiling and ecommerce. What technologies are critical for lawyers today? Henry Grossman and Roger Glovsky will present an overview of “must have” technologies for lawyers such as blue tooth, mp3, XML, RSS, IVR, OCR and KM. The discussion will be interactive; participants will be encouraged to share what products and vendors they are using as well as what they like and don’t like.

Henry Grossman is a business/corporate lawyer with Van Wert, Zimmer & Conlin, P.C., in Waltham. His clients are emerging and established software and technology businesses. He has been practicing for more than 13 years, since the time before email. Henry began professional life as a business litigator, working in Boston with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan (formerly Kaye, Fialkow), and Nixon Peabody (Peabody & Brown). After Nixon Peabody, Henry went in-house with AboutFace Corporation, a software company, and now only rarely misses the adrenaline-high of going to court. Henry is on his firm's IT committee, along with BLN regular, Stephen Conlin.

Roger Glovsky is an entrepreneurial attorney who started his own law practice from scratch – twice! Roger provides legal counsel to high-tech companies involved in business formation, financing, sales and distribution agreements, software and technology licensing, and Internet-related matters. He has nineteen years of legal experience, working as outside counsel at two major Boston law firms and in-house counsel for three Internet-related software companies. Roger is also founder of Lexpertise Inc. and manages the Business Law Network.
