Topic: "Practical Tips for Compliance with MA Information Security Regs"
Speaker: Henry L. Grossman
Place: Plates, 1 Wells Avenue, Newton, MA (Directions)
Regulations issued pursuant to MGL ch. 93H require all Massachusetts businesses that own or license personal information must have in place a comprehensive, written information security program (WISP) . These new regulations, which went into effect on March 1, 2010, provide for civil penalties up to $5000 per violation. What do you or your clients need to know about compliance? What is a WISP? What policies, employee training, or IT systems need to be implemented? Henry Grossman is a corporate attorney with more than 17 years of experience, who has helped many companies prepare WISPs and comply with the new IS regs. Henry is general counsel for an international software company, and previously worked as an assistant attorney general (consumer protection) and business litigator.
