Event: BLN Social Hour
Topic: "New Ways to Think About Business Transactions"
Hosted by: Baystate Financial Services
Place: 60 William Street, Suite 350, Wellesley, MA (Directions)

It is important to recognize that every Purchase & Sale has three parties: the buyer, the seller, and the Government (i.e., taxes). This presentation will show how you can reduce pre-tax dollars needed by the buyer, or increase net after-tax proceeds to the seller, or split the difference. Some businesses are transferred to family members instead of sold. This presentation will also describe the most cost effective and tax efficient strategies for those situations as well. Herb Daroff brings over 35 years of financial and legal experience to these cases. He will be presenting this information through a series of case studies drawn from real situations, as well as answering your questions about buying, selling, and transferring businesses.

Herb Daroff, JD, CFP® of Baystate Financial Planning is on the faculty at Bentley College and has been actively involved in the financial services industry since 1973. He is Past President of the Greater Boston Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP, now the Financial Planning Association, FPA) and served as member of the national IAFP Ethics Committee and the Board of Practice Standards and the Board of Professional Review for the Certified Financial Planner. He is also Past President of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) in Boston.
