Business Lawyers Network - Lexington **Signup**
Event: BLN Social Hour
Theme: Networking for Referrals
Hosted by:: Indigo Venture Law Offices
Place: 9 Meriam Street, Suite 21, Lexington, MA (Directions)

Last year we started a new event for the Business Lawyers Network called the “BLN Social Hour”. The purpose of the event is to provide more opportunities for lawyers and other professionals to network. The BLN Social Hour is an informal get together hosted by one of our members, perhaps on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. It is a good opportunity to visit each other’s place of work, or nearby restaurant. Each event will have a separate theme (e.g., business development, law office technology, knowledge management, etc.)

The second BLN Social Hour will be hosted by Indigo Venture Law Offices. The theme is “Networking for Referrals”. Each person should bring a list of service providers that they know and would recommend to their clients (e.g., attorneys, accountants, insurance providers, financial advisors, bankers, consultants, etc.) For each referral, you should indicate (1) type of service, (2) how you know them, and (3) why they are different (or what types of situations you would recommended them for). Try to bring at least 5 referrals. You cannot recommend yourself, but you can request that other participants at the event recommend you. We will put the recommendations on a whiteboard and then compile a master list to be distributed to all those who participate. The theme should be a good conversation starter and provide an opportunity for those attending to network with each other.

The event will be from 4:00-6:00pm. Show up as soon as you can – stay as long as you want – enjoy a glass of wine. Participants may continue networking until the host has to leave.

The Business Lawyers Network (BLN) is comprised of lawyers concentrating in complementary disciplines such as corporate, securities, commercial contracts, government contracts, secured lending, taxes, import/export, immigration, real estate, environmental, patents, trademarks, licensing, etc. Non-lawyer business professionals are also welcome, but the topic and focus of discussion will be geared toward the legal profession.
